The Ausable Club is a seasonal private club location in the High Peaks Region of the world renowned Adirondack Mountains. The property Consists of a historic clubhouse, with a full service restaurant, bar and catering operation, with amenities such as golf, tennis, lawn bowling and access to world-class hiking. The club also has 7,000 acre private Adirondack Mountain Reserve with 2 private lakes and hundreds of miles of hiking trails. Front Desk Manager
- THE AUSABLE CLUB
  
  The Ausable Club is a 125+ year old private club located in the heart of the High Peaks/Olympic Region of the Adirondack Mountains in northern New York. Located in the hamlet of St. Huberts, the club is approximately 15 minutes from Lake Placid, home to two winter Olympic Games (venues still used today for international competitions); and within travel distance to Albany (NY), Saratoga Springs (NY), Lake George (NY), Burlington (VT), Montreal (Quebec, Canada), New York City and Boston. The club is open to members from late May to mid-October. We operate a full-service historic hotel/clubhouse that includes guest rooms and cottages, restaurant, bar and catering operations. The Ausable Club also operates a highly respected mountain golf course, tennis courts, lawn bowling and access to some of the premier hiking and outdoor pursuit opportunities in the Northeastern U.S. A state of art pool renovation was completed in 2019. The club also offers its members two private lakes that are located in our private forest preserve, the Adirondack Mountain Reserve (AMR). The Ausable Club has approximately 475 memberships, with members hailing from thirty-one states and six countries.
  
  While the traditions, mission values and multi-generational culture of the Ausable Club has remained constant, the clubhouse and its facilities have been excellently maintained.ptional member service. The ideal candidate will be of high integrity, excel at collaboration, operate with a strong team spirit, possess the ability to manage effectively, and excel at providing consistent service. This is a full-time annual position that oversees the Front Desk functions of the club and comes with an excellent benefits package and excellent quality of life. This team member will report directly to the General Manager. The Front Desk Manager position at the Ausable Club is a unique opportunity to work on-site for approximately 6 months, but being employed on an annual/year-round basis. The position includes full benefits, including health, dental, vision insurance, as well as dual retirement plans, seasonal and holiday bonus eligibility, long term disability, life insurance and more. This is an ideal position for an outdoors enthusiast.
  
  REQUIREMENTS
  ▪ Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management, business, or a related field and experience that provides the required skills and knowledge. ▪ Three to five-year minimum experience in a management capacity in a similar position in hotels or within a hospitality environment; private club experience a plus.
  ▪ A career path marked with stability and professional achievement and with verifiable accomplishment as a team builder and leader. ▪ A person of exceptional character; motivated, energetic, friendly; dedicated to the profession. ▪ A friendly and outgoing personality with strong communication skills and high visibility.
  ▪ Excellent verbal and written skills.
  ▪ Proficient technical skills; the ability to enter, retrieve or modify data utilizing MS Office suite, email, Zoom, internet, POS systems, lodging software and other software programs.
  ▪ Impeccable and verifiable references; all candidates will be subject to a comprehensive background review.
  ▪ The ability to work “hands on” with other staff and managers, and to mentor, train and lead.
  ▪ Interaction with the membership is both expected and strongly encouraged.
  ▪ Outstanding communication skills are required as is a strong moral character.

  MISSION STATEMENT
  The mission of the Adirondack Mountain Reserve-Ausable Club is to preserve and protect the forests, lakes, mountain streams, and wildlife on our wilderness tract for the enjoyment of our members and, under the terms of a Conservation Easement in perpetuity to the State of New York, members of the public. We will preserve the forever wild character of this forest land and our property at St. Huberts in a manner appropriate to allow the enjoyment of their wilderness beauty. The mission also includes the operation of a club, with associated facilities, for the pleasure and respectful recreation of its shareholders.
  
  FRONT DESK MANAGER JOB OVERVIEW
  The Front Desk Manager will need to be a visible, hands-on and accessible leader to our members and staff. The Front Desk Manager will guide all Front Desk operations with a focus on delivering [email protected].

Golf Course Maintenance
- Golf Course Maintenance (groundskeepers)
  
  Golf course employees will maintain the golf course by mowing, trimming, edging, top dressing, treating turf and maintaining ball washers; mows fairways, putting greens, tees, and rough; maintains and performs repairs to the irrigation system; changes cups and tee markers; trims trees; pulls weeds; plants flowers, shrubs and trees as needed; cleans restrooms; loads and unloads material; maintains fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment on a daily basis.

Boathouse Attendant
- Boat House Attendant (Seasonal)
  
  The Boat House attendant is responsible for member/guest service with regard to assisting members with their private boats and safely lifting/carrying and assisting boats with launching and docking, loading/unloading gear, etc.
  
  The Boat House Attendant will also be responsible for renting club owned guide boats and canoes to the members/guests, as well as the review of the proper use of guide boats and canoes with the renters. They will also clean and care for Club owned boats and canoes.

Parking Lot Attendant
- Assists in the parking of vehicles to ensure safety of members, guests, employees and the club’s assets including property.
  
  Prevent vehicles from parking without proper authorization.
  
  Observes and enforces club safety rules and policies.

The Ausable Club opens for members in late May (Memorial Day weekend). June is considered the “pre-season”, with the months of July and August considered the “busy season.” September to mid-October (Columbus Day) is considered the “post-season”. The club closes to members on the Tuesday following Columbus Day.

The Ausable Club draws its staff from a wide range of colleges and universities, as well as internationally.
Countries represented: Mexico, South Africa, Romania, Croatia, Czech Republic, Ireland, US Virgin Islands, Antigua, Lithuania, etc.

Internship Colleges: The Ausable Club recruits and hires interns from some of the best Hospitality, Restaurant Management and Culinary college and university programs in the country. We have hosted interns from such schools as Iowa State University, Oklahoma State University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), Purdue University, University of North Texas, California Poly Pomona University, Cornell University, Michigan State University, University of Houston, University of Missouri, Florida International University, SUNY Delhi, SUNY Oneonta, Kendall College (IL), Johnson & Wales University, Niagara Falls Culinary Institute, Mercyhurst University, etc.
